PHONE REMOTE CONTROL AND UPDATE TOOL (PRCUT)

The tool is designed to provide user friendly options to bulk update large number of IP phones in CUCM cluster. PRCUT provides system administrator ability to view remote phone’s screen, initiate buttons pressing, create a custom file with required pressing sequence and delays between them and execute it against a large number of phones registered to CUCM.

CUCM and phone models

  • CUCM main releases currently supported – 10.5 to 12.5. Engineering Specials (ES) and Service Updates (SU) for the versions mentioned should also be compatible, however we encourage all clients to test system compatibility using trial license before purchasing this program.
  • Phone models tested are 7941/61, 7942/62, 7945/65, 7970, 7975, 7841/61, 8841/61/65, 6941/61, 3905

License

  • Various license types are available, depending on the number of phones in CUCM cluster against which you can execute bulk update script:
    • Trial – unlimited trial period, up to 10 phones can be selected
    • Small cluster – up to 500 phones can be selected, permanent
    • Unlimited – more than 500 phones can be selected, permanent

Connecting to CUCM cluster

Application or End user must be configured on CUCM and have the following Roles assigned:

Viewing phone screen

  • The phone you are viewing the screen on is automatically excluded from bulk button execution
  • In Phone Control / Script Recording window you can only connect to one phone at a time
  • Target phones must be associated with the User
  • For screen viewing Web Access must be enabled on target phone

Executing commands

  • Button sequence must be entered for each phone model group using phone control or loaded from file for each type you are targeting
  • Suitable delay must be configured to allow the phone to change status before next key will be executed (default is 1000ms). We suggest running the sequence against local phone first to adjust the delay.
  • Not all buttons are currently supported, however the buttons available should be sufficient to use most of the phones options
  • User association with target phones is not required
